Cutaneous Assimilation: Taking in Nourishment and Information Through the Skin
Massage is a therapeutic system that works through the skin which is the outermost extension of the neuronal network. The skin is a kind of map for the brain and the organs of the body. Massage addresses a variety of conditions when applied through the developmental states of the body.
- For babies, massage by the parents provides for pleasurable bonding with family and other living beings.
- For growing children, massage provides for body awareness in support during the rapid physical and emotional changes that are occurring.
- For adults, massage both calms and invigorates, balancing the energy patterns for active, peaceful and pain-free living.
- For older or aging adults, massage stimulates skin tone, adjusts and balances circulation, invites fuller breathing and provides for a comfortable and pleasurable interlude when the ordinary pace of life becomes a challenge.
Patricia’s experience allows her to address the needs of the entire family. As well as therapeutic massage, she is trained to give new parents instruction in baby massage and communication with nurturing touch.
Patricia offers a Swedish style massage that releases stressed connective tissues and both restores and prepares the
body for ongoing healthy function. Your body becomes your partner in living well. At your option, you
may receive the massage with nourishing oils applied to your back and neck, legs and feet, arms and hands, and face, or you may wear loose comfortable clothing.
